  • The best way to learn how to ride a motorcycle, with 10 to 11 hours of hands-on drills.

Covers the basics of operating a motorcycle and safety-oriented mental strategies. Motorcycles are provided for your use. Before the on-cycle riding exercises, you will explore basic learn-to-ride topics, including fundamental riding skills, mental perceptual strategies, and behavioral self-assessment activities. These topics will be covered either in a live classroom setting, using one of MSF’s online eCourses, or a combination of the two. This is followed by ten to eleven hours of on-cycle riding and safety exercises. The course may earn you an insurance discount. Successful completion provides a New York DMV road test waiver for New York state driver license holders. Student is responsible to bring their own helmet. Helmets are not provided.

  • The best way to learn how to ride a 3-wheel motorcycle, with 7 to 9 hours of hands-on drills.

Designed for riders of 3-wheel motorcycles, whether the two wheels are in the back or the front. This is followed by seven to nine hours of on-cycle riding and safety exercises, plus knowledge and skill tests (where applicable). The course may earn you an insurance discount. You may bring your own 3-wheel motorcycle, or one may be provided. Successful completion provides a New York DMV road test waiver for New York state driver license holders.

  • In selected states, for riders who already have basic skills, but are not yet licensed.

Similar to the BRC except speeds are higher and you should be on your own motorcycle. An excellent refresher course for practicing and renewing riding skills. Includes a 4 hour eCourse and riding skills test. If you do not need the license waiver component (no classroom activities and no knowledge or skill test), there is a "Skills Practice" offering. Successful completion provides a New York DMV road test waiver for New York state driver license holders.

  • A 2 hour, first-touch experience with a motorcycle and not designed to teach a person to ride. As a familiarization program that points out the primary parts and controls of a typical motorcycle, it helps a potential rider determine whether motorcycling is a good personal choice. A person is given the option to manipulate the controls while astride a motorcycle, and is led into a BRC as a formal way to learn to ride. Also embedded in the experience is a self-assessment component to ensure a person is aware of the risks and requirements for being a good, safe and responsible rider.

  • A ½ day on-cycle program consisting of BRC riding exercises.

Designed for riders to practice their basic skills, whether or not they were successful in the regular BRC. There is no formal classroom instruction. Motorcycles are provided for your use. Completion of this course does not earn you a New York DMV road test waiver and will not qualify you for an insurance discount.

  • Designed for experienced riders seeking to develop riding skills and decision-making further. This 1 day course emphasizes advanced cornering, braking, swerving, and risk management techniques and is conducted using the rider’s own motorcycle in a controlled environment.

  • A 5 hour riding course designed to help licensed riders develop basic riding skills.

Exercises focus on a variety of cornering skills and limited-space maneuvers. By the end of the course, you should be able to handle a motorcycle well enough to negotiate normal street and traffic situations. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for your use. You must have a valid motorcycle permit or license endorsement.

  • A 5 hour course for experienced riders, modeled after police training courses.

There is no formal classroom and the riding exercises focus on limited-space maneuvers, modeled after police training courses. Through progressively challenging exercises, you develop smooth and precise control and learn more about the limits of your abilities and your bike's capability. You must bring a valid motorcycle permit/license endorsement, and an insured/registered/street-legal motorcycle.
